Village Dartlo
Located in the Pirikita Alazani Gorge, Dartlo is distinguished by its slate-stone houses and defensive towers, which reflect the traditional lifestyle of Tusheti’s mountain communities. The village has been recognized by UNESCO as a cultural heritage site, representing one of the finest examples of a medieval mountain settlement.
During summer, many locals return to Dartlo, reviving old customs and traditions, which makes the village especially vibrant. It is also a popular starting point for hiking routes into the surrounding mountains, offering travelers both cultural and natural experiences.
